The blue dwarf crayfish, also known as the blue brazos dwarf crayfish or Cambarellus patzcuarensis , is a small, aggressive crayfish that can grow up to 2.5 inches long. They are native to Mexican rivers and streams and have bright blue coloration and an active personality. They are omnivorous and do best in tanks that are at least 5 gallons and are heavily decorated. The ideal water temperature for blue dwarf crayfish is between 60–82.4° F (16–28° C), but the lower end of this range is more ideal.

Blue dwarf crayfish can be territorial and aggressive with other crayfish, but are less so than other species like the Electric Blue Crayfish. They are also known to keep tanks clean and free of waste, making them especially useful in large aquariums of 30 gallons or more. With proper care, they can live up to 5 or 6 years
